A little catch up

Hello!!!!  So, a lot has happened since the last time I blogged.  I have integrated pretty well into my community and become accustomed to rogue animals walking through the streets at all times (Donkey).  Throughout the weeks, we have had training, training, and more training.  I have also been to Suddie Primary where I taught my first ever reading lesson!  It's very different from home because the students actually listen to you and behave (for the most part).  It's also hard to hear and talk since there are no actual classrooms in the school.  The classes are separated by chalkboards and sometimes the students get rowdy and excited, especially when they are left unattended.

Fast forward and we are on our way to Georgetown to meet our counterparts!  We took a bus to Supenaam, boarded the ferry to Parika, then boarded another bus to Georgetown.  We are staying in the Grand Coastal Hotel again (we stayed here when we first arrived) except there were not enough rooms at the main campus so some of us are at houses down the road.  They are absolutely amazing!  The toilets flush and there are showers AND hot water!!!  We also have coffee (real, not instant) made for us every morning.  Everyday we are picked up and driven to the hotel where we are fed breakfast, lunch, and dinner and then driven back for the night.

Today, we actually met our counterparts which is fabulous and Saturday we will all travel to our permanent site for a week!!!!  Oh yeah, in case you haven't heard, my site is New Amsterdam in Region 6!!!!  I will be at St. Theresa's Primary School!!!  I am extremely excited about this and cannot wait to get there and get started (as you can tell from my excessive use of exclamation points)!!!!!

Here are some pictures to hold you guys over until I have some time to write more.
